1. Kemba Walker: College legend turned NBA Lottery pick

    By the Kemba Walker Team

After one of the most successful college campaigns in NCAA history, Kemba Walker has now officially joined the ranks of the NBA.

Picked 9th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats, Kemba is thrilled to begin his career playing for an NBA legend.

“A lot of guys from New York grew up dreaming about playing in the NBA. Here I am, going to Charlotte playing for who people say is the greatest player to play this game and I’m going to play for his team. I’m happy that he (Michael Jordan) is giving me this opportunity” Walker said, “I’m a winner [and] he was a winner. He had a lot of heart when he played and I’m all about heart. I go out there, I compete every night and you know I’m not going to go down without a fight.”

Following a trade Charlotte made before the draft in which the Bobcats moved their starting shooting guard Stephen Jackson, it appears Kemba will have every opportunity to earn big minutes in Charlotte in his rookie season. “I just feel lucky,” said Kemba of the opportunity.

However, Kemba Walker isn’t thinking that far ahead just yet. Rather, he is prepared to learn the ropes from his veteran teammates and contribute any way he can to making the Bobcats a winning team.

“As far as sharing time with D.J., I have no problem as long as we are playing well and we are winning,” Walker said. “If I can do anything possible to help the team, I’m willing. I’m just going to go in there with an open mind and just be ready to learn.”
